A tripartite metropolis
Khartoum is the capital and second largest city of Sudan. It is located where the Blue and White Niles meet and merge to form the Nile. Divided by the Niles, it is a tripartite metropolis consisting of Khartoum proper, and linked by bridges to Khartoum North (Bahri) and Omdurman.
The city defies expectations. It is a modern and lively city, with plenty of things to do. Enjoy a trip to the fascinating souqs, like the Souq Arabi (the commercial heart of town) or Souq Omdurman. You can also enjoy a walk on “Nile Street” along the Blue Nile on one side and lined with colonial buildings, where you can also see The Presidential Palace or visit the National Museum. You can visit other museums like Sudan Presidential Palace Museum and Sudan Ethnographic Museum.
There are also many clubs and recreational activities one can enjoy in city. With its everchanging skyline of new modern glass towers, its historic cultural, generally good facilities, and hospitable people, Khartoum is a good destination to visit in Africa.
